THE ODDSOCKEATERS is an animated feature film produced by Ondřej Trojan from Total HelpArt from Prague, Czech Republic and in coproduction with Czech Television, with Petr Horák from Alkay Animation Prague, with Zuzana Mistríková and Lubica Orechovská from Pubres from Slovakia and with Arsen Anton Ostojić from Filmosaurus Rex from Zagreb, Croatia.

This film is one of the most successful, if not the most successful Czech animated feature film in the history of Czech cinema, with more than 320.000 admissions in cinemas in Czech Republic, with additonal 20.000 admissions in Slovakia and 16.763 admissions in cinemas in Croatia. This also makes it one of the most successful Croatian minority coproductions ever.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS

THE ODDSOCKEATERS is an animated feature film based on a popular children’s book about little beings invisible to most humans, who hide inside houses. Their food are socks, which they steal from people but their rule is to merely take one, odd sock out of each pair so they would leave another. The story follows a little oddsockeater Hugo who is forced to live with his uncle Padre after the death of his grandfather. Padre is a leader of a gang that is in constant conflict with another gang of oddsockeaters called Coyotes over the territories.
